The Role

Overview

Night shift welder/fitter performing GTAW of superalloys on gas turbine components.

Tasks

-Perform a wide variety of layout, fitting, and welding to restore service-ran combustion components to engineered specifications. -Operate material handling devices, including Jib & B/C cranes and forklifts, to load and unload parts from machines and assist crane operators. -Utilize hand tools, grinders, and burrs to recondition surfaces to exact specifications. -Interpret detailed drawings, blueprints, and manufacturer specifications to determine necessary tools for machining operations.

What You Bring

-Proficiency in basic shop math and the use of precision measuring equipment is essential. -You must pass standard hearing, vision, and PFT tests, and hold a Career Readiness/Work Keys Certificate at Silver Status. -You should be able to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 lbs. -Cold work and form components to meet strict tolerance requirements. -Ability to obtain a fork truck and crane license; previous experience is preferred. -A high school diploma along with 1-3 years of industrial welding assembly experience or formal training is required. -You must pass welding qualification tests for Inconel GMAW 6G Butt Joint Open Root to ISO standards.
