Tasks

-Enhance technical excellence in assigned design organizations. -Provide leadership to help focus and integrate new technology smoothly into production. -Provide technical consultation to assigned organization and to other internal and supplier engineering and manufacturing organizations. -Works closely with the Chief Consulting Engineer’s office and related consulting engineers across engineering for I&C systems application. -Consult with and support the Chief Engineer’s Office in the execution of technical goals of the office. -Lead/support study teams to address top problems within the organization or projects in focused technical areas. -Identify and recommend where improvements in knowledge of the specific discipline are needed or where technical training is needed. -Provides technical leadership in design reviews, task force, industrial committees, and design boards as necessary. -Establish a total quality management strategy to assure early involvement on manufacturing process/producibility matters.

What You Bring

-Remains cognizant of general knowledge of relevant nuclear regulatory endorsed safety related systems, inclusive of IEEE, IEC, ASME NQA-1 and other standards. -Strong oral and written communication skills -This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government -Familiar with the GE Vernova Hitachi Nuclear Energy NUMAC product line design, functions, and applications in rod control, power range, and instrumentation control. -Able to interface effectively with all levels of the organization. -Problem solving skills; Lean training/experience is preferred -Considered an expert in safety related I&C systems -Master’s degree or PhD in an engineering or technical discipline preferred -At least 8 additional years of experience in an engineering capacity -Recognized technical expert in safety related instrumentation & control (I&C) embedded systems, design, architecture, hardware, and software integrated solutions using modern and legacy technology, components or component systems, and provides consultation to management, all design organizations, and supplier organizations. -The required work location is the GE Vernova Hitachi Nuclear Energy headquarters in Wilmington, NC (relocation assistance available) -Strong interpersonal and leadership skills -Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science from an accredited college or university
