The Role
Overview
Install, maintain, and remove traffic control devices while driving to sites.

Tasks
-Inspect, maintain, fuel and stock truck, equipment and vehicles assigned to jobs. -Maintain a clean shop, yard, equipment and vehicle. -Adhere to all company policies and procedures. -Provide the engineer with a 24-hour contact number and return the engineer's call within two hours of the time of the call. -Lift, carry and stack materials and traffic control devices. -Wash and clean vehicles and devices used for and/or on the job site. -Responsible for following all safety rules and regulations. -Drive the company vehicle to and from job sites in a safe manner. -Review the project day & night within 24 hours, monthly and after each change in the traffic control set up of the installation of the traffic control devices, -Traffic Control Technicians and Drivers ensure they are on the job site for the layout, installation, and removal of traffic control devices when switching and returning traffic on interstate projects. -Report to Crew Foreman or Operations Manager. Assist any/or all departments, such as striping, traffic control and sign shop, to assure the timely completion of jobs and projects. -Prepare and submit required daily logs, time sheets, pull sheets, usage sheets and paperwork on job site documentation are neat, complete and accurate and all receipts are submitted on time. -Assist with the manufacture of different types of signs and traffic control devices. -Propose changes to improve flow of traffic through the work zone. -Maybe asked to supervise, assist & train new hires with traffic control responsibilities as needed. -Ensures to the initial layout and to inspect and have devices, including replacements, delivered to the job site before installation and to engage with proper set up, adjustment, tear down, removal of traffic control devices, pick up and maintain traffic control devices.

What You Bring
-Must conduct yourself in a manner promoting a professional atmosphere by being a team player, self motivated, organized and having a positive attitude. -Be able to work in all weather conditions and tolerate varying climates of heat, cold, and rain. -Pass a drug screen prior to employment and maintain a drug-free status. -North Dakota: CDL may be required. Class A with combo vehicle endorsement is a plus. -Be physically capable to perform all flagging duties. -Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds. -Must be capable of loading, safely securing and unloading trucks, trailers and/or equipment independently with materials. -Know how to call in locates. -Have a clean driving record -Valid driver's license and have/maintain a clean driving record. -Able to operate motor vehicle, hook up trailers and back up trailers. -Must be at least 18 years of age. -Capable of organizing and maintaining inventory. -Proficient in reading maps and traffic control plans and specifications. -Be able to stand throughout your entire shift, hand and arm movement is required. -Ability to maintain a clean job site. -Have working knowledge & clear understanding of all hand tools, small power tools and other tools including signals & message boards. -Job regularly requires one to walk, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and reach with hands and arms. -Have reliable communication to receive work schedule. -Able to operate forklift, skid-steer and small walk behind grinders. -Must have good oral and/or written English communication skills with co-workers, customers, contractors and engineers. -Be able to lift 50 pounds. -Regularly exposed to outside weather conditions, moving equipment and machinery parts, moving traffic, fumes and airborne particles. -Must have basic math skills, including the ability to read a tape measurer. -Noise level of the work environment is usually moderate to loud. -Able to perform minor repairs on equipment as needed. -A valid drivers license is required. -Traffic Control Technicians and Drivers understand the DOT requirements, items in the contract, the contractors proposed operations & Part VI on the Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD). -Excellent communication skills.
