Overview

Install, maintain, and troubleshoot industrial electrical systems for construction projects.

Tasks

-Read and interpret drawings, circuit diagrams and electrical code specifications to determine wiring layouts for new or existing installations. -Ensure all electrical installations follow applicable regulations and trade practices. -Install brackets and hangers to support electrical equipment. -Installing cable tray and conduit and terminating cable. Locating and installing equipment, panels, sensors and other control components and devices. -Test continuity of circuits using test equipment to ensure compatibility and safety of system, and if need be, replacing or repair following proper installation guidelines. -Install, replace and repair lighting fixtures and electrical control and distribution equipment, such as switches, relays and circuit breaker panels. -Fabricate control panels, wiring check-out. -Responsible for laying out circuits, set up breaker panels and junction boxes, and install light fixtures and other electrical equipment. -Pull wire through conduits and cables through tray systems. -Splice, join and connect wire to fixtures and components to form circuits. -Journeyperson will mentor apprentices respectfully and oversee their safety. -Ensure you and your family receive the services needed to support your mental, emotional, and physical well-being. -Install, alter, repair and maintain a wide range of electrical equipment for safe, efficient and environmentally sound operation.

What You Bring

-Must have a strong understanding of industrial safety procedures and policies. -Proven ability to work independently and as a part of a team in a fast-paced setting. -MUST be fluent in English, both written and verbal. -Ability to lift and work with materials weighing up to 25kg. -WHMIS 2015 certificate -Ability to work in all weather conditions and environments. -Valid Provincial Journeyperson Ticket with RED SEAL -Experience as an Electrician in an industrial construction environment.
