Tasks

-Perform work safely and effectively. Understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies. -Complies with company standards to produce quality deliverables. -Utilize applicable engineering national and local codes -Checks and navigates in the 3D models for interferences and constructability. -Creates plan drawings and details for electrical deliverables. -Perform layout of electrical equipment. -Reports task progress to Lead Designer. -Analyze, inspect, and construct designs while adhering to electrical quality standards and department procedures. -Model electrical components using vendor submittals and electrical designs. -Resolves checked drawings; prove and understand comments made. -Checks design for consistency, safety, operability, and maintenance requirements before submitting to checking. -Perform calculations to check allowable fill in conduits, cable tray systems, and pull boxes according to NEC. -Gathers information needed to develop design and verify voltage separation requirements are met. -Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines. Work overtime and weekends as required. -Acts as a field resource to assist construction in field resolution on issues. -Routes electrical cables in a 3D environment to generate a cable schedule. -Reports project progression updates and/or issues to project lead team. -Develops 3D models utilizing drawings, sketches, and design skills. -Coordinates with project team by utilizing the Project Database: Request for Review Process, Holds List, ECN, Request for information from other disciplines, and all other applicable functions. -Design duct bank, embedded conduit, cable tray, grounding and lighting systems from concept to completion utilizing engineering documents, sketches or vendor data.

What You Bring

-Must be able to pass a background check. -DOE and Commercial Nuclear experience preferred but not required. -Proficient in Navisworks software for design review, and basic computing programs including the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). -Properly size cables and raceways. -Experience utilizing 3D programs such as MicroStation, AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks or SmartPlant 3D and have knowledge of the latest computer operating systems. SmartPlant 3D experience is preferred. -Work productively and meet deadlines timely -Must be able to conceptualize in a 3D environment. -Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment. -Ability to work independently with limited direction and oversight. -Must be a US Citizen or US Permeant Resident. -At least 8 years’ experience in Design and/or Drafting disciplines with a background in electrical design. -Must be able to represent Kiewit Engineering & Design Co. in a professional manner to owners, contractors, vendors, and any other contacts outside the Kiewit Engineering & Design Co. organization. -Seeks feedback and uses it effectively. -Regular, reliable attendance -Ability to work in a growing, adaptive and multi-discipline team environment. -Little to no supervision required to apply standard correctly to design.
