Tasks

-Collaborate with both GE Vernova product engineers and Advanced Research team members on technical projects -Conduct power system research involving modeling and simulation of electrical components and networks, design of protection, stability, faults and controls, and test lab scale circuit -Develop algorithms for power system optimization, generation scheduling and dispatch for grid connected and microgrid systems -Develop and implement in hardware advanced controls of electrical system. -Deliver on technical projects with set timelines and cost -Gain an in-depth understanding of key business drivers and use this understanding to accomplish own work. -Write and orally represent the research to its business customers and at technical conferences -Simulate and analyze electrical power systems consisting of electromechanical systems, renewable generation, conventional generation and controls. -Work with multi-disciplinary boarder team or independently deliver based on the requirements of project

What You Bring

-Excellent communication and presentation skills -Strong oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. Established project management skills. -Experience in Python, C++, Visual Studio -Experience in power system optimization, dispatch, energy management systems and grid integration -Experience in system simulation tools such as PSCAD, Matlab/Simulink, DigSilent etc. -Use some level of judgment and has ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters but with guidance. Use prior experience and on-the-job training to solve straightforward tasks. Have access to technical skills and analytic thinking required to solve problems. May use multiple internal sources outside of own team to arrive at decisions. -Have proven interpersonal skills and provide informal guidance to new team members -Understanding of grid energy management systems -Power system controls, power system protection and drives, power system optimization, renewable integration. -Hands-on hardware design and build experience in power systems experimental set-up -Demonstrated expertise in power system operation and optimization. -Experience in Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML) applications to Power Systems is an added advantage -Understanding of power system dynamics, transients, protection and stability -Ability to work independently as well as in collaborative team environment -Understanding of Signal Processing -Strong expertise in power system simulation and analysis -Doctorate degree in Electrical Engineering or related field with atleast 1 year of experience or a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field with at least 4 years of industry experience in an advanced technology development environment with designing, building and testing power systems
