Tasks
-Perform other related duties for Region Customer Service, Metering, Distribution, and Engineering departments as -Schedule installations with customers and coordinate work with local forces and electrical contractors as necessary -Interact with customers as required on a daily bases and provide world class customer service with Southern Style -Perform audits of AMI system meters as prescribed by PSC requirements -Exhibit and demonstrate Southern Company’s “Southern Style” values of unquestionable trust, superior -Identify metering related hazards and repair meter bases as needed, in accordance with GPC standards -Ensure compliance with GPC’s Blue Book standards for meter installations -Maintain electric residential and small commercial meters, metering systems and various accessories used primarily for

What You Bring
-High school diploma with knowledge of basic electricity required. -Must have a valid motor vehicle operator’s license and a good driving record. -Must be available to work storm duty additional hours/overtime which could include working evenings, nights, weekends -Must pass the CAST and/or additional test prescribed by SCS – HR testing. -To be considered for an interview, candidates must pass (or have passed) the Construction and Skilled Trades test -Technical certificate or equivalent in Electronics/Electrical/Telecommunications preferred. -Must be able to frequently work in extreme weather conditions throughout the entire year. All climatic conditions will be experienced in this position (heat, cold, rain, snow/ice, etc.). -Must complete and pass 5-day GPC-MS-MSR- Meter Service Order training -Candidate/new hire must provide proper safety toe shoes or boots. -Maintain, thorough knowledge of applicable rules associated with GPC’s metering installation standards, safety -Good computer skills with ability to obtain AMI and ARMS III system training, which is required to perform the job duties -Candidate should meet the physical requirements of the position, including (but not limited to): bending, kneeling, -2 to 3 years of experience installing meters, repairing meter bases and removing self-contained residential/commercial class meters – preferred -Have flexibility and be available to work overtime as needed -Ability to interact professionally and courteously with all customers -Be self-motivated and able to work with limited supervision
