Early Career Hydrogeologist/Groundwater Modeler
Ramboll
The Role
Overview
Develop groundwater models, conduct field studies, and support water resource projects.
Key Responsibilities
- data management
- groundwater modeling
- field investigations
- hydrological surveys
- geostatistical analysis
- project management
Tasks
-Perform data compilation, quality screening, digitization, and data management in the development of groundwater flow and transport models. -Support field investigations for groundwater mapping and geophysical surveys (transient electromagnetic surveys, electrical resistivity tomography, and seismic refraction tomography). -Plan and conduct hydrological investigations to characterize the subsurface and groundwater conditions, evaluate surface water-groundwater interactions, determine hydraulic properties, and assess the impacts of climate change on groundwater availability. -Use geostatistical methods to assess environmental datasets. -Assist with project and task management, including planning and implementing groundwater management projects, budgeting and budget management, adherence to schedule, quality, client satisfaction, and profitability -Prepare reports and technical documents summarizing findings, recommendations, and regulatory compliance efforts for stakeholders, including government agencies, water districts, environmental organizations, and community groups. -Construct and use defensible computational models to be used as supporting tools to help project stakeholders understand groundwater flow, potential effectiveness of recharge/augmentation projects, and other technical issues related to addressing groundwater resources management issues. -Perform aquifer testing and hydrogeologic data analysis.
