What You Bring
-Ability to apply principles of equity, diversity, and inclusion in decision-making. -Considerable experience in communications or marketing, working with social media and digital content for diverse communities. -Considerable experience in an advisory role to other Communications staff, as well as in the public sector. -Ability to provide strategic advice to senior leadership, management, and colleagues. -Ability to work evenings and weekends as required. -Ability to work with a wide variety of online social media platforms. -Considerable knowledge and understanding of the philosophy, theories, and principles of the communications discipline. -Ability to work under tight deadlines and pressures, with scrupulous attention to detail. -Considerable knowledge and understanding of best practices in social media and digital marketing. -Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information in an appropriate manner and display a high degree of judgement, discretion, and decision-making ability. -Strong organizational and time-management skills. -Ability to think strategically, translating organizational objectives into concrete and deliverable social media and digital tactics. -Strong verbal, writing, editing, and presentation skills. -or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience acceptable to the employer. -Ability to create engaging content for social media, upholding best practices in accessibility. -Ability to adapt to changes in the social media and digital marketing landscape, showcasing agility in response to evolving trends and technologies. -Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and as a team player. -Proficiency in MS Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. -Ability to create and foster strong working relationships with internal and external partners and stakeholders in planning and implementing communication strategies, providing strategic communications advice, and facilitating problem-solving to manage issues, mitigate risks, and achieve results. -Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, public relations, digital communications, or other relevant discipline. -Ability to work with a variety of partners and stakeholders, agencies, and contractors. -Ability to use various design tools such as Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator and Canva to develop a wide range of graphics and communications materials. -Ability to provide strong team leadership on various projects and provide advice and counsel to other Communications staff in the performance of their duties.
