Tasks
The role will report directly to the Development Director. The role fundamentally involves contact with the team and Project Support team, specifically to ensure all goals are progressed to deliver targeted key review stages and milestones. -Prepare the initial development concept, identify, and approach landowners and agree site and individual negotiating strategies with the Senior Development Land Manager. -Agree and review the site finding strategy and requirements with the Senior Development Land Manager on a regular basis. -To provide support to the wider team in their efforts to develop a successful business plan and to provide specific help within estates and business development areas. -Delivery of prospect and project milestones to align with Business Plan requirements. -Identify sites pre-planning and wherever possible avoid on-market competition. -Reporting to the Development Director, the job holder will be primarily responsible for securing high quality development sites to maintain the development of the renewables forward programme. -Prepare financial appraisals for use at Key Review A and B stages and prepare and obtain approval for initial budgets to progress sites through to Key Review C. -Work with the wider team members to achieve both individual and the Company’s key financial and non-financial targets. -Ensure commercial value of project is always maximised -Ensure sufficient budget resources are made available to projects to avoid delay or reduction in quality. -Use internal and external resources to take projects successfully through to Key Review B stage. -To identify new quality renewable generation and flexible energy projects for the company across England and Wales. -Ensure all new sites have a clear and deliverable strategy -Negotiate contracts on behalf of the company however, all efforts must be agreed with the Development Director and will always be subject to Board approval. -They will also take responsibility of several land negotiations to achieve specific project and financial objectives. -On occasion, represent the Company at liaison meetings and landowner meetings etc., out with normal working hours. -Liaise with the wider team members to support delivery of projects.

What You Bring
Experience in negotiating option contracts Full driving licence Logical planning ability and ability to multi-task successfully. Educated to degree level Confident and experienced negotiator Proven ability to partner with customers, partners and stakeholders in a manner that results in mutually positive outcomes and credibility Comfortable with regular travel Renewables experience Customer orientation, integrity, and the ability to lead through influence 5 years’ experience in site finding, with good knowledge of development and land use planning. Relevant professional qualifications e.g. RICS/RTPI Excellent interpersonal skills and capable of delivering results to strict deadlines. Ability to role model actions and behaviours consistent with the company values A positive ‘can do’ enthusiastic attitude towards addressing the technical challenges. First class communication skills with the ability to liaise with senior management and technical functions A dynamic, self-starter, with the proven ability to operate in a challenging environment Experience in using appropriate IT tools to deliver efficiency and functionality Ability to demonstrate strong attention to detail Demonstrates the ability to take instructions when required, while operating with a high degree of autonomy and self-sufficiency. Good judgement, showing logical decision making, even under pressure -Achievement of a portfolio of quality renewable energy sites which are located out with significant technical constraints and with good planning prospects -Conform to the Quality Project Management System as it relates to the job.
