The Role

Overview

Lead planning, delivery, and management of major power transmission projects in Teeside.

Tasks

-Ensure all work is undertaken with a view towards handover and certification -Take charge of all aspects of project delivery – from initiation, planning and design, to delivery, monitoring, commissioning, and handover -Lead risk/opportunity reviews, present the Risk Register and recommend/implement changes -Ensure reports provide relevant information which enables decisions to be made which are informed, cost effective and in line with overall strategy -Lead and inspire a multi-skilled team and set the tone for large infrastructure projects -Develop, implement, review and periodically update resource loaded schedules -Develop high performing diverse teams, promote a pipeline of talent and assist with internal training through supporting, guiding, motivating and empowering the team. Using the resources available through training, mentoring and performance management -Build relationships with clients and other stakeholders -Prepare both internal/external reports and liaise with stakeholders -Develop, implement and update resource allocation plans (OBS) and raise appropriate requests -Lead a relentless focus on Zero Harm & keep up to date with changes in legislation -Advocate consistency and reliability of digital data to support successful project delivery – data driven decisions -Ensure that expenditure is in line with the budget and that resources are utilised efficiently to ensure cost control -Ensure procurement plans are available in line with the overall project plans, such that material/resources/supply chain can be delivered to meet scheduled deadlines

What You Bring

-Experience in Power/ Utilities within large infrastructure projects -Commercial awareness with knowledge of both budgetary and financial control -Recognised Project Management qualification -ompetitive - DOA -Project delivery experience to make sure we meet high quality and safety standards -Up to 2 days volunteering per year -Strong communication skills to manage, mentor and empower your team -Proven track record in tendering and managing complex projects, including sub-contractors -Commercial acumen to control costs and keep projects in budget -To understand standard forms of contracts and performance evaluation techniques. -Recognised and relevant Engineering qualification -Experience of Management and Delivery of high value infrastructure power projects -The confidence and credibility to liaise with business leaders
