Building Estimator

Overview

Prepare material and labor cost estimates for steel enclosure manufacturing projects.

Tasks

-Work on multiple estimates simultaneously. -Specs, drawing and quoting customers -Maintain accurate and up-to-date pricing information from suppliers, vendors, and purchasing department and update estimate sheets accordingly -Gathers and reviews proposals, blueprints, specifications, and other related Building documents to determine scope of work. -Identify labor, material, and time requirements for each project. -Partner with engineering, business development, and project management teams to help understand the technical pieces of the project. -Attend weekly bid meetings to provide status of open estimates and updates for each project in the pipeline. -Communicate with customers during the bid phase for clarifications and scope information to complete estimates. -Create and submit cost estimates for review.

What You Bring

-Strong analytical and problem-solving skills -Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software. -Ability to work on multiple projects while meeting required deadlines. -Excellent verbal and written communication skills. -Ability to understand technical electrical and mechanical drawings and requirements. -Understanding of contractual language is a plus. -Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. -2-4 years of experience as an estimator or similar role -Coursework in a related field/industry. -Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or other related field preferred. -Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
