Overview
Lead design, documentation & construction admin for LA projects, meeting LAUSD & DSA standards.

Tasks
-Liaises with Project Management, other architects, and consultants -Responsible to coordinate with clients, project team, consultants, and contractors to ensure trust and confidence -Develops and represents lead technical viewpoint on projects -Participates in the conceptual design and provides full support through the entire project -Responsible to monitor personal billing and works at maximizing team’s quality and efficiency in assigned tasks -Administer with Intent – Conduct construction site visits, review RFIs/submittals, and support project follow-through. -Provide leadership and oversight of a team of project architects, project associates and interns -Assists in analyses of design, design data, and planning as it relates to project scope -Lead the Details – Independently produce high-quality drawings, specifications, and materials selections. -Support the Vision – Ensure documents and deliverables reflect both design excellence and technical precision. -Problem Solve with Purpose – Apply your judgment to evaluate and implement architectural solutions for projects of medium to large complexity. -May participate in marketing efforts and lead presentations to prospective clients -Balance & Budget – Stay aligned with project schedules, budgets, and quality expectations. -Participates in preparing reports and specifications. Reviews completed reports, plans, estimates and calculations -Responsible to follow project budget, task schedule, and other components of the work plan with Project Manager -Collaborate Creatively – Work alongside clients, consultants, and internal teams to ensure seamless, inspired outcomes. -Involve explorations of subject area, definition of scope, selection of items for investigation and development of novel concepts and methods -Coordinates on the planning and development of construction and design document production, and provide technical expertise to ensure coordinated and high-quality documents -Responsible to conduct construction administration duties, such as site visits, RFI responses, submittals, and punch list reviews -Provide leadership for client meetings -Contribute innovative design solutions that consistently capture the intended design vision -Contribute to bold design solutions that balance scale, aesthetics, and context to maximize the impact to the individual and community

What You Bring
-Technical Know-How: Strong working knowledge of zoning and building codes, specifications, building/engineering systems, and agency requirements (NFPA, ADAAG, FGI, OBC, IBC etc). -Must have experience working with LAUSD design standards and DSA plan check requirements and processes** -Experience: Minimum 8 years of architecture-related experience in a professional setting. -Strong Communicator: Outstanding verbal and written communication skills. -Inspiring Workspaces – Enjoy a thoughtfully designed office with spaces for collaboration and inspiration. -Team Player: Collaborative and professional work ethic. -Creative Confidence: Ability to generate and articulate impactful design ideas. -Design Tools: Proficiency in Revit required; Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) proficiency required; SketchUp or Rhino required; Lumion, Enscape and V-Ray are a plus. -Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture from an accredited university (preferred). -Licensed Architect who works independently and is responsible for finished plans, specifications and approval of materials and construction -Travel: Occasional project-related travel required.
