Water Demand Strategy Lead

Tasks

-Build strong relationships with retailers, customers, and regional stakeholders to support delivery -Align strategy with Water Resource Management Plans and our Business Plan commitments -Drive innovation in water sustainability and customer engagement -Represent South Staffs Water at industry forums and workshops -Identify and integrate best practices and innovations from across the industry -Lead benefit measurement and reporting for internal stakeholders and regulators (e.g., Environment Agency, Ofwat) -Lead a high-impact strategy in a critical environmental domain -Manage external consultants and suppliers as needed -Collaborate with the Universal Metering team to maximise programme benefits and ensure strategic alignment -Continuously review and adapt programmes to ensure value and effectiveness -Analyse smart meter data to inform water efficiency initiatives and demand forecasting -Uphold Health & Safety standards and company values: Professional, Trusted, Impactful, Community Focused -Develop and deliver a strategic plan to reduce household and non-household water consumption through 2030 -Collaborate with passionate teams and industry leaders

What You Bring

-Strong project management skills, including budget oversight -Proven track record in end-to-end project development and delivery -Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills -Understanding of WRMPs and regulatory commitments (preferred) -Full UK driving licence (due to travel across regions) -Experience in water efficiency programmes (preferred) -Familiarity with smart metering and data-driven strategy development -Ability to work independently and drive strategic initiatives -5+ years’ experience in water demand reduction or related roles
