The Role

Overview

Lead survey teams, collect precise field data, verify measurements, and support construction layout.

Tasks

-Monitor and verify the contractor’s work alignment, levels, and grading against design drawings. -Maintain survey equipment in proper working condition and perform frequent calibration checks. -Record all measurements, rod readings, and calculations neatly and accurately in field books as work progresses. -Check all work by completing traverse closures and bench circuits. -Report discrepancies, errors, or technical problems to the Assistant Resident Engineer (ARE). -Perform joint measurements of the completed work or payment items with the contractor and RE/ARE. -Establish primary horizontal and vertical control points, including reference ties for re-establishing points in the field. -Perform survey work under the direction and guidance of the Senior Highway Surveyor. -Conduct pre-construction surveys to verify site conditions, identify obstructions, and support design verification. -Maintain proper documentation of survey records, reports, and maps for project reporting and handover. -Utilize modern computer software, GPS, total stations, and other survey equipment for accurate measurements. -Coordinate with the Contractor’s surveyor on work priorities and schedules. -Participate in site inspections with the Resident Engineer and client representatives to verify progress and quality of works. -Assist in resolving survey-related disputes or discrepancies between design and field execution. -Provide input and support for construction layout, staking, and setting out for roads, pavements, curbs, drainage, and utilities. -Ensure compliance with safety procedures during all survey operations. -Assist in preparing as-built drawings based on survey data.

What You Bring

-Knowledge of local and international surveying standards and regulations. -Strong mathematical and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail. -Ability to read and interpret complex maps and blueprints. -Candidates must have experience in Construction Supervision with a Consultancy with a minimum of 8 years of overall experience (minimum 5 years in the UAE). -Proficient in data collection, analysis, and report preparation. -Familiarity with infrastructure project requirements in the UAE. -Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Geomatics, or a related field. -Proficiency in using surveying equipment such as GPS and Total Station. -Expert knowledge of surveying software including AutoCAD and Civil 3D. -Excellent written and verbal communication skills. -Professional certification as a Licensed Land Surveyor.
