Overview
Lead field bridge inspections and produce reports for Carolinas projects
Key Responsibilities

Tasks
-Operate inspection equipment such as bucket trucks, manlift and underbridge inspection vehicles -Identify critical findings during field inspection -Actively engages multiple perspectives when solving problems, seeks to learn from peers, and encourages reciprocal learning among team members. -Perform field inspection of Complex Structures including bridges and tunnels -Schedule and coordinate field operations with subcontractors -Prepare inspection reports, evaluations and recommendations -Document inspection findings including the use of digital photography -Climb ladders, supervise traffic control set-ups and perform other work in support of inspection activities -Review previous inspection reports and information -Actively advocates for full inclusion in the workplace, fostering an environment that welcomes diversity and values equity for all employees, partners, clients, and the communities that TranSystems serves. -Assign and lead team members in field and office tasks -Perform engineering calculations, structural analysis, rating calculations and review of plans as required

What You Bring
-Experience with NCDOT Wigins and AASHTOWare BrM software -Successful completion of NHI Training: Bridge Inspection Techniques for Nonredundant Steel Tension Members (NHI 130078). -Experience working with state (SCDOT or NCDOT) and local transportation agencies -Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from a 4-yr accredited college or university. -Load rating and design experience -Physically capable of performing continuous field work including working at heights, carrying ladders and gear, working in adverse weather conditions, etc. -OSHA 10 HR Certification -3-5 years of related Bridge Inspection experience. -Working knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.) -Strong technical writing skills -Valid Driver’s License -NBIS Bridge Inspection Team Leader Certification. -Experience with engineering design software (AutoCAD, OpenRoads Designer, MicroStation, etc.) -Successful completion of NHI required training: Safety Inspection of in-service bridges (NHI 130055). -Registration as an Engineer Intern or licensed Professional Engineer.
