Design and oversee geotechnical & tunnel projects, analysis, reports, and team leadership.

Tasks

-Preparing geotechnical data reports, geotechnical interpretive reports, geotechnical baseline reports, and geotechnical design reports. -Performing design of tunnels, earth retention systems, rock and soil slopes and deep foundations. -Preparing drawings and developing engineering reports. -Design and rock and soil tunnel initial support using numerical and empirical methods. -Assisting in preparation of proposals. -Participating in project decisions regarding technical approaches, cost and schedule performance. -Developing and implementing geotechnical subsurface exploration plan.

What You Bring

-Strong oral and written communication skills. -Minimum of 11 years of experience in geotechnical engineering with emphasis underground structures. -Experience in rock and soil logging, rock tunnel mapping, and subsurface investigations is preferred. -Interpreting geology, geotechnical and hydrologic conditions and understand their impact on design and construction. -Prior experience with PLAXIS 2D and 3D and ITASCA software (FLAC 2D and UDEC) is highly preferred but not required. -Previous experience in supervising junior staff. -Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering or related disciplines. -Proven record of the use and supervision of PLAXIS software in projects. -Professional Licensure and Society Memberships -Professional Engineer (PE) or the ability to get one within a year. -Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
