Design and locate pipe supports, perform calculations, ensure compliance with codes.

Tasks
-Coordinates with other engineering disciplines and vendors as required. -Locating and designing support for various piping systems and performing associated calculations. -Prepares or assists with the preparation of assigned material requisitions and bid evaluations. -Reviews PD&P design scope changes, as required, for project management. -Analyzes and reports on the suitability of unconventional materials, techniques and/or difficult coordination requirements . -Participates in constructability reviews. -Analyzes problems with conflicting design requirements, sketches ideas and possible solutions . -Coordinates plant design engineering efforts in assigned areas with specialty groups, engineering disciplines, the client, vendor, contractors, construction and other functional groups. -Works closely with layout personnel and pipe stress engineers to deliver a quality and cost-effective design. -Monitors and checks work for compliance with approved PD&P design standards to provide quality design, reliable/safe plant operation and construction economy . Ensures PD&P systems designs comply with all applicable installation codes, regulations, and standards. -Participates in reviews and recommends approval of design drawings and data for compliance with requirements . -Examines and analyzes pipe configurations for ANSI/ASME code compliance . -Participates in studies that require knowledge of principles and techniques commonly employed in plant design and piping work . -Endorses or prepares reports of work progress, as required, for project and discipline use. -Evaluates, selects, and applies standard plant design and piping engineering methods, techniques, procedures and criteria, using independent judgment in making adaptations and modifications . -Develops and interprets design criteria and specifications for most complex plant design and piping infrastructure in a global business unit .

What You Bring
-Must be US Citizen. -Be familiar with common pipe support hardware, industry standards, and relevant codes such as AISC & ASME B31.3. -Good knowledge of AISC and ASME B31.3 and other relevant industry codes and standards. -PE Registration preferred. -Prior experience should include working in a 3D model environment. -Previous DOD/DOE project experience. -Prior experience using GTStrudl structural analysis program. -Prior experience using Pipe SupportModeler software. -Previous Bechtel project experience.
