Overview

Perform structural analysis and engineering support for Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program.

Tasks

-Prepare letters to the Government providing technical information, recommending approval of technical actions, or obtaining approval of funding. -Develop an understanding of component and system interrelationships. -Assist in the study, design, application, analyses, test, or the preparation of specifications and processes for systems, materials, equipment, or components relating to a limited aspect of the group's function. -Prepare project plans to accomplish assigned work. Identify and complete performance measures, including post job assessments. Meet project and scheduler requirements. -Assist in design, development, execution, and evaluation of engineering research and design projects. -Communicate status on a periodic basis to immediate management. -Support other engineers who are performing related work. -Monitor supplier performance and participate in production/quality surveillance and production reviews at supplier plants and report results. -Evaluate vendor prepared designs and supporting documents; participate in technical discussions with suppliers. -Perform analytical evaluations which may include the application of existing computer models. -Perform delegated engineering responsibility that supports fleet, field, technology, analysis, manufacturing, facilities, testing, and operations activities. -Assist in the preparation of technical manuals, reports, or procedures in accordance with NR program quality standards.

What You Bring

-Requires a security clearance; however, all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status. The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy security clearance is required. -Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university. -Minimum GPA of 3.0 is preferred for newer college graduates.
