The Role

Overview

Inspect bridges and other structures, document conditions, and develop analysis and repair designs.

Tasks

-Assists inspections using various testing methods, mechanized access machinery, climbing or diving equipment, and drones or sonar scanning devices. -Mobilizes to other offices/states as required to staff additional inspection teams. -Assist with preparation of scopes of work, fee proposals, and technical responses for proposal requests. -Conducts safety inspections of bridges and other structures, and prepares associated written technical reports and electronic drawings.

What You Bring

-Any bridge inspection experience is a plus. -Must be physically able to perform bridge inspection task in the field, including different types of access and conditions. -Ability to work constructively in a team environment, grow to supervise other's work, communicate and maintain professional working relationships. -Willing to attend bridge inspection training courses based on the FHWA Bridge Inspector's Reference Manual (BIRM) and keep current with refresher and continuing education requirements. -Must be open to trave out-of-state or on short notice for emergency work. -Bachelor of Science in Civil, Structural or related Engineering discipline (ABET-accredited preferred). -Engineer in Training (EIT) or Engineering Intern (EI) certification is a plus. -Any NHI bridge inspection coursework is a plus.
