The Role

Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, install commercial HVAC systems independently.

Tasks

-Promptly and accurately complete all required paperwork while on the job. -Conduct basic repairs on HVAC commercial equipment using soldering, brazing, pipe fitting, and unit wiring independently. -Perform troubleshooting on commercial HVAC systems, refrigeration systems, economizer, VAV box, fan powered box, and pneumatic controls independently. -Specialize in maintaining commercial HVAC systems by changing air filters, replacing belts, record refrigeration pressures, performing in depth inspections, and adjusting gas-fired burners as needed according to LONG’s Service Procedures while working independently. -Maintain positive working relationships with customers, technicians, dispatch, sales, and management. -Complete basic installation tasks on commercial HVAC equipment using copper and steel piping, sheet metal ducting, equipment hanging, crane direction and simple equipment start-ups. -Regularly attend and complete any assigned training courses while making steady progress towards Service Technician II. -Use a variety of hand tools and power tools at an advanced level to troubleshoot, repair and install HVAC equipment. -Deliver outstanding customer service by greeting customers upon arrival at job sites, confirming satisfaction before departing, and consistently representing the company with professionalism.

What You Bring

-Proficiency in reading and interpreting mechanical schematics. -Moderate oral, written, interpersonal communication skills, as well as excellent documentation and organizational skills. -2+ years working experience with commercial HVAC systems. -Knowledge of basic building codes and regulations. -Ability to conduct repairs such as replace motors, connect HVAC components independently. -This position requires the use of personal hand tools. -Moderate proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Outlook, Excel) and able to learn additional computer software. -This position may require lifting to 75 lbs. from floor to countertop and countertop to floor. -Ability to work after-hours when needed. -Valid CFC Refrigeration certificate. -Capability to work in confined or tight spaces such as mechanical rooms for installation and repair tasks. -This position may involve standing for extended periods and working in tight spaces. -This position requires the ability to drive a company vehicle safely and legally. -Working in inclement weather conditions -This position may require climbing ladders and the ability to function at heights.
