The Role

Overview

Designs and validates fire protection and fluid handling products and manufacturing processes.

Tasks

-Assist with technical questions and problems. -Conducts various forms of modeling and drafting (2D, 3D, etc.) to determine if proposed designs are technically feasible. -Works on product design engineering problems and assists with projects or processes. -Supports and participates in the design, test, modification, fabrication, and assembly of prototypes. -Manage assigned projects by tracking the project schedule throughout its lifecycle. Present any obstacles to on-time production, and solution with our vendors. ensuring the information is updated and tracked as necessary. -May also be involved with designing product specific sheets and manufacturing production processes and equipment.

What You Bring

-Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with industry experience. -Familiarity with fire protection standards (e.g., NFPA, UL, FM). -Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills. -Experience with fire suppression systems, valves, or piping components. -Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD). -Knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes relevant to fire protection components. -Experience with component design, analysis, sourcing, and validation and manufacturing. -PE license or progress toward licensure is a plus. -8+ years of experience in product design, preferably in fire protection or fluid handling systems. -Strong communication skills with experience working with international vendors and customers.
