Tasks
-Provide subcontractor safety orientation, accident investigations and necessary follow-up actions. -Conduct staff training, safety briefings, and safety inspections. -Maintain OSHA required program documentation and records for The Joint Commission (TJC) requirements, training, staff certifications and licenses, and permits. -Provide safety and health oversight to a diverse team of managers, leads, technicians, and administrative staff. -Generate and administer Activity Hazard Analysis (AHA ) and provide the appropriate safety training and awareness to the trades staff. -Responsible for the safety and health program for a day-to-day onsite facilities management for a government medical facility outpatient program. -Ensure work is completed in compliance with contract requirements, healthcare codes and regulations, budgets, and performance standards. -Provide safety plans and an approved Activity Hazard Analysis (AHA) in accordance to the USACE 385-1-1 Safety Manual to include crane operations, excavations greater than five (5) feet, confined space entry, and electrical work to include LOTO. -Ensure staff and subcontractors adhere to safety plans and processes and requirements. -Coordinate closely with customer Facility Management points of contact in providing formal and ad hoc reports, scheduling services, sharing program status, and making best practice recommendations. -Resolve conflicts, identified deficiencies, and issues following reporting and corrective action requirements.

What You Bring
-STS - Safety Trained Supervisor -OSHA 30-hour training certificate or training card; -Strong oral and written communication skills required. -CHMP - Certified Hazardous Materials Practitioner -Resume or certificates demonstrating, for a minimum of the last five (5) years, having maintained competencies through 8-hours of formal safety and health related training per year -CHP – Certified Health Physicist -Examples of continuing education activities that meet this requirement are: writing an article, teaching a class, reading/writing professional articles, attendance/participation in professional societies/meetings, conferences, etc. -Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English. -Experience in writing Activity Hazards Analysis (AHA) -The Safety and Health Officer shall also have working experience with NFPA, EPA, TJC, CMS, OSHA codes and -A Third-Party, Nationally Accredited (ANSI or National Commission for Certifying Agencies - NCCA) SOH-related certification is preferred. The following is a list of acceptable certifications: -CMSP - Certified Mine Safety Professional -OSHA 30-hour training card (or course completion certificate if within the last 90 calendar days of having completed the training and card has not yet been issued). -Resume demonstrating five (5) years of cumulative safety experience, within the last ten (10) years in managing or implementing a SOH program on projects similar in industry type, size, and complexity of a medical treatment facility up to 2 million sq. ft. -Experience using DMLSS CMMS is preferred. -CIH – Certified Industrial Hygienist -COHN-S - Certified Occupational Health Nurse – Specialist -CHMM - Certified Hazardous Materials Manager -Resume or certificates demonstrating, twenty-four (24) hours of documented formal classroom or online Safety and Occupational Health (SOH) related training within the past five (5) years and must have maintained competency by taking twenty-four (24) hours of safety related training every three (3) years. -COHN - Certified Occupational Health Nurse -CHSP – Certified Health and Safety Professional -CSP - Certified Safety Professional -Completion of OSHA 30 is required -CFPS - Certified Fire Protection Specialist -Resume demonstrating five (5) years of continuous safety experience in supervising or managing general industry/construction/O&M, including managing safety programs or processes or conducting hazard analyses and developing controls -Training Certificate of completion of 385-1-1 Safety Manual.
