The Role

Overview

Expert technical support for solar and battery storage O&M, including remote/on-site troubleshooting, training and documentation.

Tasks

-Develop, review, and update operational documentation such as Inspection Test Plans (ITPs), Work Instructions, and Method Statements, with a strong focus on electrical procedures and safety compliance. -Assist in Health, Safety, Quality, and Environment (HSQE) incident investigations, contributing electrical insights to root cause analyses and recommending improvements to technical procedures. -Deliver expert technical support for Solar and Storage Operations & Maintenance (O&M), with a focus on electrical infrastructure including plant GPS, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), and power conversion technologies. -Provide hands-on, on-site technical interventions, particularly for electrical systems and components, ensuring timely resolution of faults and performance issues. -Offer both remote and on-site troubleshooting and performance analysis, leveraging electrical expertise to support plant operations and cross-functional teams. -Developing Method Statements, ITPs, and working with OEMs on fault diagnoses.

What You Bring

-Desirable experience in battery storage installation and O&M (MW-scale). -Battery storage technology knowledge (training available). -Familiarity with central inverters, High Voltage operations, and AC/DC systems in utility-scale solar and BESS. -Fluent in written and spoken English with excellent communication skills. -Knowledge of APAC Health & Safety legislation and solar PV & BESS technologies. -Solar PV O&M experience (MW-scale or large commercial). -Experience in multidisciplinary, multicultural teams. -Required Qualification: Diploma/degree in Electrical Engineering or Electronics with valid Electrical License -Understanding of SCADA, instrumentation, communication networks, HVAC, fire protection, and security systems (desirable). -DC/LV installation, fault finding, testing, and commissioning. -Electrical License for the relevant state, LVR/CPR, First Aid, and Construction White Card. -Full Australian driving license. -Strong safety mindset. -Experience with central inverters, SCADA, data monitoring, and HV switchgear. -Base Yourself in Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane -Coaching mentality, skilled in training and upskilling others. -Diploma/degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or equivalent; other technical training to be assessed. -Proficient in IT for report writing and documentation.
