Engineering Managing Principal

Lead and grow MEP/FP engineering practice, mentor staff, ensure quality, manage client relations.

Tasks

-Implement, monitor, and support company policies. -Research and gather information on potential clients, projects, and trends in market sectors. -Serve as a primary contact with clients and consultants for engineering services. -Attend industry functions, such as association events and conferences, providing feedback on market trends; participation in speaking and presenting to demonstrate expertise preferred. -Maintain involvement and ensure quality control in all phases of projects where engineering is involved. -Work directly with the COO and senior management to develop major business initiatives around engineering and other firm services. -Prepare fee proposals, qualifications packages, presentations, and other related materials for potential opportunities. -Strengthen the breadth and depth of the engineering practice firm-wide, supporting engineering efforts at both the project and departmental level. -Coordinate MEP services with project team leads. -Act as a mentor and manager of engineering staff, providing leadership, clear guidance, and regular feedback to ensure quality results.

What You Bring

-Experience in design of healthcare, senior care, higher education, commercial, public safety, and/or government projects, with specialization in a specific area of design required. -Bachelor's or master's degree in architectural engineering from an ABET accredited university. -15+ years of manager or leadership experience in an Architectural Engineering or MEP firm. -Strong communication and listening skills. -5+ years of client relationship building and principal-level engagement -Sales experience, including preparing proposals and participating in client interviews. -Ability to manage multiple assignments effectively. -Good leadership and organizational skills. -Skilled in cloud-based and mobile technology for collaboration.
