Overview

Design and support water and wastewater systems, including field work and permitting.

Tasks

-Follow safety rules, guidelines and standards for all projects. -Work closely with senior-level project managers to gain additional project management experience for more complex and larger projects. -Participate in pre-task planning. Report any safety issues or concerns to management. -Attend meetings (remote or in-person) with clients, field staff and regulatory agencies for project support. -Correspond with clients, vendors, contractors, regulatory agencies, and operation and maintenance staff as needed based on project requirements. -Support with construction project bid document preparation and pre-bid meeting attendance. -Complete construction field inspections/oversight and prepare inspection reports. -Perform site investigations, data collection, site surveys, and field evaluations of existing facilities, infrastructure, and property. -Aid in the development of detailed design drawings, schematics, layouts, and detailed technical specifications. -Design potable water distribution and treatment systems, wastewater collection/conveyance and treatment systems, water reuse/recycling systems, and stormwater facilities. -Assist with completing permit applications and design reports for various review agencies. -Evaluate groundwater and surface water quality. -Maintain quality standards on all projects. -Complete evaluations, alternative analyses, feasibility studies, and engineer’s construction estimates. -Compile data and operational information for inclusion into regulatory reporting for potable water and wastewater systems. -Provide field support to operations and maintenance staff periodically on water and wastewater treatment system projects. -Assist with construction phase services, such as management of project schedule, costs, meeting attendance, and administrative tasks. -Assist with the preparation of project proposals and cost estimates. -Complete calculations and utilize applicable software applications for design purposes.

What You Bring

-0-2 years’ experience in potable water, wastewater, water resources design and permitting with an engineering consulting firm or related internship. -Construction inspection and oversight understanding -Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history. -Experience or openness to learn design related software as required by project need (i.e SWMM, HEC-HMS, WaterCAD, SewerCAD, etc.) -Minimum 0-2 years’ experience. -Experience with water and wastewater treatment system operations and maintenance. -Familiarity with Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (PA DEP) permitting and design requirements for potable water and wastewater systems. -Willing and able to travel to project sites and meetings as needed, including long days and overnight -Excellent time management, with the ability to multitask -Willing to learn or experience with AutoCAD software. -Proficiency in technical writing and Microsoft Office Suite -Show attention to detail. -Are experienced in outdoor and office environments. -Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering or related Engineering degree. -Enjoy communication -Pennsylvania Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate or ability to become certified in Pennsylvania. -Experience in field reconnaissance, survey equipment operation, data collection, and analysis. -Team oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills.
