Tasks

-Keep team personnel morale high -Guide staff in developing and monitoring their career development plan -Develop Project Managers to prepare proposals, establish fees, bill projects, and to be responsible for the financial success of projects -Monitor and assist Project Manager’s performance -Use technical resources to assist in quality control -Track financial progress of individual projects and Project Managers -Look for opportunities with prospective clients -Coordinate workflow and staffing with Group Leader and other teams -Develop Project Managers to successfully manage all aspects of projects -Solve technical problems -Monthly team financial and staffing forecasts with a 3 month look ahead -Look for new opportunities with existing clients -Develop technical skills of Engineers and Project Managers -Mentor less experienced staff -Establish good relationships with clients -Direct all aspects of the development of utility infrastructure study and design projects in the areas of drinking water, wastewater, stormwater. -Assist group and other groups to be profitable -Provide support for our sales force -Effectively deal with personnel issues within the team in conjunction with Group Leader, Human Resources and upper management -Create a timetable for Project Manager development and monitor progress -Identify project roadblocks and assist in resolving them -Ensure proper staff training -Prepare proposals, fee negotiations, and contracts -Ensure that every project gets adequate review at every stage -Identify hiring needs and assist with interviewing -Develop Project Managers to delegate design tasks -Monitor monthly team billings, profitability, and staff utilization -Assist in defining business plan to execute work, grow and develop new business -Drive velocity on all projects and maintain project schedules -Lead employee performance review effort -Develop Project Managers to create and maintain client relationships

-Extensive client contacts/relationships with local municipalities -Demonstrated ability to manage projects profitably -Ability to effectively communicate positively at all levels of the organization -Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor staff members -10 years in Utility Infrastructure engineering including design of wastewater treatment plants, water treatment plants, water distribution systems, sanitary sewer collections systems and lift stations -Demonstrated participation in proposals and presentations, with the ability to win work
