Senior Civil / Structural Design Engineer

Senior engineer delivering civil/structural design for commercial/industrial projects.

Key Responsibilities

• site inspections

Tasks

-Assist with site inspections and surveys as required -Manage continuous professional development and stay updated on legislation -Recognise and manage cost/ time and budget implications and also support in preparing fee proposals -Mentor junior colleagues; provide technical advice and guidance -Produce detailed technical output using design models and expert knowledge -Undertake design tasks based on expert technical knowledge -Manage drawing production and ensuring BIM protocols are adhered to -Attend and contribute to project/ client meetings -Establish and maintain good relationships with external project team members and clients -Validate design models and calculations and contribute to technical specifications and reports -Oversee and maintain high-quality technical design output -Collaborate with the team, delegate tasks and communicate effectively

What You Bring

-Relevant degree (ideally an accredited Masters Degree with ICE/ IStructE) in Civil or Structural Engineering or equivalent Level 6 qualification -Proficient in Microsoft Office with excellent written and verbal communication skills -Good commercial awareness and project management skills and experience -Strong technical knowledge of relevant legislation and standards -Ideally Chartered or Incorporated with relevant professional body or working towards Chartership -Competent in relevant drawing, modelling and experienced in the application of relevant design software -Ideally substantial post qualification experience
