Tasks

At Phase X, the Mid-Level Transmission Engineer plays a key role in delivering high quality transmission line engineering across high voltage projects. You will apply your technical expertise in transmission design, line modeling, structure loading, and plan and profile development while working closely with our structural and substation teams. This role directly supports project execution by performing engineering calculations, creating detailed models, developing construction drawing packages, preparing specifications and bill of materials, and supporting design studies that ensure safe and reliable power delivery. You will be involved in multiple active projects and help maintain schedules, budgets, and resource coordination while identifying risks related to safety, design, constructability, and field conditions. As a Mid-Level engineer, you will also provide guidance to junior engineers and designers, support QA reviews, and help uphold overall design quality. -Ensure all designs comply with NESC, ASCE, IEEE, and utility standards -Develop transmission line models using PLS CADD and related tools for structure loading, line design, and plan and profile development -Support and lead engineering tasks for high voltage transmission line projects -Innovative Projects: Work on high-impact, industry-leading designs that define the future of engineering. -Support or lead structure design and foundation analysis with collaboration from internal structural teams -Prepare engineering deliverables including drawings, bill of materials, structure loading reports, plan and profiles, and specifications -Cutting-Edge Tools: Use the latest technologies and techniques in structural analysis and design. -Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and designers -Contribute to continuous improvement of processes, templates, and design workflows -Coordinate closely with our substation engineering group to ensure proper integration at line terminations -Participate in client meetings, project reviews, and interdepartmental coordination -Support site visits, field reviews, and construction support when needed

You will deliver accurate calculations, detailed models, high quality design markups and reviews, and consistent coordination with internal teams and clients to support the full lifecycle of transmission line projects. -Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate in a fast paced, multi discipline environment -Experience with foundation design tools including RISA Foundation, L Pile, or FAD Tools -Ability to manage multiple engineering tasks and meet project deadlines -Ability to work independently with limited supervision while still operating as a strong team contributor -Exposure to related technical areas such as geotechnical engineering, civil site development, or electrical engineering -Understanding of NESC, ASCE, and related industry standards for transmission and power delivery -Master’s degree in Civil, Structural or Mechanical Engineering -Experience with 3D structural analysis tools including RISA 3D, SAP 2000, or equivalent -Proficiency with MS Office including Word, Excel, Teams, and PowerPoint -Familiarity with drafting and modeling tools such as Revit, AutoCAD, and Inventor -Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, or Mechanical Engineering -Strong understanding of power delivery structural design codes including ASCE 10, -Proficiency with Transmission Design software including PLS CADD, PLS Pole, and PLS Tower -Active Professional Engineering License -Experience developing or working with MathCAD design templates or equivalent engineering calculation workflows -Active EIT certification -Willingness to participate in field work, site walks, and occasional travel to support project needs -3-7 Years of Experience in Transmission Line Engineering or Power Delivery Engineering
