Tasks
-Coordinate with local electric service providers to review their preliminary designs. -Prepare budgetary cost estimates. -Perform review of construction documents designed by others, including junior staff at various stages of completion for quality and content. -Prepare biddable Construction Documents (Plans and Technical Specifications) from conception/study phase to construction management phase. -Assist in the development and management of entry-level and junior-level staff. -Participate in or facilitate project meetings. -Coordinate with equipment vendors, manufacturers, clients, and design team members from other engineering disciplines. -Make site visits to gather information to start and complete designs. -Compute electrical calculations including loads/services, panel schedules, short circuit currents/fault currents, voltage drop, conduit and conductor sizing, VFD harmonics, and backup generators. -Provide post-design support to construction administration personnel on an as-needed basis. -Create, read, and interpret electrical, mechanical, and architectural drawings, schematics, and specifications. -Coordinate with local authorities having jurisdiction regarding electrical building permit submittals, design reviews, and address any comments. -Prepare engineering memos, reports, and facility assessments/evaluations using technical writing techniques and grammar.

What You Bring
-Proficiency in AutoCAD, including rotating base files, inserting and linking Excel spreadsheets, creating and utilizing title blocks and symbols, reading electrical plan layouts, creating PDFs, and maintaining proper CAD etiquette. -Experience with SKM software for arc flash hazard studies is preferred. -Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, 365, OneDrive, SharePoint, and Bluebeam or other PDF software. -Ability to perform load calculations and arc flash studies. -Working knowledge of AGI32 photometric lighting software is preferred. -Knowledge of NFPA 820, NFPA 30, UL-508A, UL-698, and related Codes/Standards is preferred. -At least 7-10 years of experience in downstream power distribution design. -Knowledge of power distribution and electrical plans. -Thorough understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC).
