The Role

Overview

Assemble and ship customer orders, manage inventory, and operate forklifts.

Tasks

-Unload products from rail cars safely and efficiently, documenting and handling materials correctly. Operate forklifts extensively to move, stack, and organize inventory. -Inspect, count, and record order quantities during loading; palletize and stretch wrap materials for shipment. -Conduct cycle counts, inventory checks, and product inspections, including weighing castings and assessing scrap. -Adhere to all safety protocols, wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), and maintain clean and safe work areas. -Support additional tasks such as assembling service or valve boxes, and building products or shipping crates as needed. -Retrieve invoices from the shipping office and transport orders across the yard using manual handling or a forklift. -Perform daily equipment inspections and submit condition reports, and maintain clean, organized storage areas with clear driving aisles. -Assemble and tag customer orders with accurate details, ensuring proper weight distribution.

What You Bring

-Physically capable of performing manual handling tasks and operating industrial equipment. -Proven experience in order processing, warehouse operations, or a similar role in a storage yard or distribution environment. -Excellent organizational skills with a commitment to maintaining a clean and safe work environment. -Familiarity with cycle counting procedures and inventory control systems. -Ability to read and interpret shipping invoices, product labels, and order details. -Must be trained and certified as a forklift operator. Experience unloading rail cars is strongly preferred. -Strong attention to detail with the ability to inspect, count, and record inventory accurately.
