Senior Interior Designer - K-12 Learning Environments

• Develop interior learning environments that cater to school brand identity, student and staff experience, and safety
• This position is one of teaching and mentoring to aid in junior staff professional development. Delegation and communication are expected to be clear, concise, and performed with little assistance. Leaders can manage and direct project teams, communicate and delegate tasks effectively, and contribute to staff reviews and professional development goals
• Responsible for not only creative and innovative design solutions, but also the proficiency and efficiency of the interior design team members
• Participation in marketing and business development efforts from production of visual, written proposals, and participation in interviews are required
• Stay at the forefront of the latest experience design trends, technologies, and concepts to ensure innovative and cutting-edge solutions
• Lead the design process, from concept to completion, ensuring that each project delivers a unique and unforgettable experience

Requirements

Advanced leadership and project management skills.

LaBella is looking for the right person to lead the interior design aspect of the K-12 market projects and project teams. The lead position is expected to be an authority or expert in the fields of interior design with a specialty in K-12 learning environments.

Ability to work quickly, effectively, efficiently and within project timelines and budgets, manage support teams to do the same.

Have a minimum of 8+ years of experience in commercial interiors with a concentration in educational environments both K-12 and/or Higher Education.

Other certifications such as ALEP, WBI, and LEED AP certifications are not required but are a plus.

Good ability to lead, mentor, and delegate to project teams.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills - excellent presentation and people skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively.

Advanced ability to create constructable technical documents.

Advanced understanding of Sketch Up, Enscape and Adobe creative Suite, ability to use efficiently a plus.

Creative, forward-thinking, and passionate about creating immersive experiences.

State Certification or Registration.

Possess well-developed visualization skills and be able to convey intent of ideas easily and quickly, both verbally and visually.

Proven experience in designing interiors for K-12 projects.

Expert proficiency in Revit and experience with AutoCAD.

Advanced organizational and time managements skills.

Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts in Interior Design from a 4 - year CIDA accredited interior design program.

Enjoys working in a team setting and be excited to share knowledge and ideas with others, and to help others to improve their own skills and expertise.

Advanced understanding of all phases of design and construction.

NCIDQ Certification.

• Participation in staffing and work planning efforts is required regularly
• Occasionally, travel is required
• Collaboration is expected not only within interior design teams and clients but also with every level, including but not limited to, project architects, project managers, marketing team members, building engineers, subconsultants, vendors, and design partners. Communication, both verbal and written, are expected to be frequent, concise, and effective and performed with little assistance
• Understanding and creating fee and project budgets and performing project management tasks are sometimes required and expected to be performed with little assistance. Projects are expected to be delivered within the budget outlined as well as meeting client expectations
• Educational design is a large part of LaBella's business and leaders are expected to work with clients to discuss goals and objectives in order to provide creative and innovative design solutions. • The ability to produce conceptual, technical, and constructable drawings, specifications, and documentation is required and the ability to direct others in these tasks are expected to be performed with little assistance
