SOLARCYCLE is a tech-driven solar system recycling company founded in 2022 by experts in solar technology, recycling, and sustainability.
The company has raised a total of $69.73 million in funding, including a $31.63 million Series B round in August 2024.
SOLARCYCLE operates recycling facilities in Odessa, Texas and Mesa, Arizona, with plans for a new facility in Cedartown, Georgia.
The company's proprietary technology can extract up to 95% of valuable materials from used solar panels, including silver, silicon, copper, and aluminum.
SOLARCYCLE is investing $344 million in a solar glass manufacturing facility in Cedartown, Georgia, which will be operational in 2026 and capable of producing 5-6 GW of solar glass annually.
The company has partnerships with major solar firms like Sunrun, Silicon Ranch, DEPCOM Power, SOLV Energy, NovaSource, Greentech Renewables, and Forum Energy Partners.
SOLARCYCLE's recycling model helps recover approximately 95% of solar panel value, which can be returned to the supply chain for new panel manufacturing.
The company installed a 500-kW solar system at its Odessa recycling facility using nearly 1,000 decommissioned panels from utility-scale and residential projects.
SOLARCYCLE aims to have the capacity to recycle one million solar panels per year by the end of 2023.
The company is working with the Department of Energy's National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) to optimize recovery processes and develop new solutions for recycling solar materials.
