Automation & Telecom Commissioning Engineer

Description

• Review contractor commissioning plans for safety, clarity, and readiness
• Work across multiple site locations including onshore substations, site offices, and temporary facilities
• Keep project progress, documents, drawings, and completion systems accurate and up to date
• Support procedure updates, cross team coordination, and weekly planning and safety meetings
• Ensure field issues are raised, tracked, and resolved in alignment with commissioning requirements
• Support Site Acceptance Tests and assist in identifying required spare parts and equipment
• Coordinate contractors across all phases of commissioning, ensuring clear communication and safe, efficient execution
• Manage Commissioning Queries, conduct Mechanical Completion checks, and drive punch list closeout

Requirements

• At least 5 years of New York project experience
• Ideally degree educated in a relevant engineering discipline (experience can override this in some occasions)
• 3+ years in project commissioning experience, preferably within a substation and/or automation environment
• Background in large project commissioning

Benefits

• No accommodation or travel allowances will be provided – candidates are expected to be able to reliably commute to Brooklyn, New York
• Pay Rate is negotiable, but expected to pay between $70.00 - $90.00 per hour (+ overtime)
• This is a 4-5 month contract position with option(s) for extension, additional training or a transition into an offshore role if/when available.
