Tasks

-Create and update new hire safety binders and manuals -Maintain current safety info in Excel and pull safety records and stats when needed -Order, track and ship supplies (i.e. stickers, posters, PPE, etc.) where needed -Coordinate and present safety training to support The Company and client requirements including planning, documentation, and presentation. This will include: New Hire Orientation and others dependent on experience and knowledge -Take reasonable care of your own and others' health and safety and of those who may be affected by the day-to-day delivery of this role by taking personal responsibility for working toward The Company's Zero Injury principles -Have all necessary documentation printed and scanned for crew members when needed Safety -Assist in preparing employee Department of Transportation Drug and Alcohol files -Participate in the jobsite R4 Safety Committee as required -Effectively present information and respond to questions from employees -Communicate with the Safety Manager regarding safety matters -Database for classroom training sessions and safety training courses in the office and in the field for jobs without a Site Safety Coordinator -Attend the weekly general safety meeting, weekly supervisor's safety meeting, and daily gang box meetings, as required -Assist in the preparation of meetings and presentations -Maintain jobsite first aid and emergency response supplies -Administrative, Employee Information and Reporting: Assist with entering drug and alcohol testing results Scan employment documentation and log into system as needed -Compliance: Work directly with the Site Safety Coordinator and the management team to develop and implement and maintain an effective site specific safety plan

What You Bring

-Familiarity with MSHA and OSHA regulations or a general safety background is helpful -Understand all environmental permitting regulations and measures to ensure compliance -Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's program studying Safety Management, Occupational Safety or Construction Management or a related field -Excellent organizational skills and able to multi-task -Maintain a GPA of 2.9 or higher. -Functional computer skills and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint as required to manage the safety program -Type and write reports with accuracy and appropriate grammar -Speak, and write clearly
