Tasks

-Working with the tribe’s Product Architects to ensure that their requirements and vision are incorporated into the structure and capabilities of the codebase. -Ensuring that PRs have a high chance of being accepted first time by proactively identifying high-risk PBIs and engaging with the responsible engineers early and often. -Works effectively to bring a wider range of other people on board with the chosen directions on mindset, behaviours, and ways of working. -Ensuring a consistent and high-quality approach to software engineering across all the tribe’s squads. -Drives positive change within remit, ensure positive interactions across the business and with senior 3rd-party stakeholders. -Lead role & go-to person for approximately 2-3 squads or for a domain impacting many squads. -Supporting the tribe’s Lead Engineers by resolving blockers and providing guidance necessary for delivery of sprint work. -Ensuring that the tribe’s output and codebase is compatible with the standards required by Core Platform. -Working with the tribe’s Lead Engineers to ensure that PR reviews provide the requisite level of quality assurance. -Delivering a software engineering standard for the tribe and a strategy for how the current codebase must evolve to meet that standard.

What You Bring

-Approachable, strong communicator who can listen, influence, and persuade others and with the ability to present to senior stakeholders. -Many years of experience working with large, complex codebases. -Understands the business bigger picture and able to make decisions leading to significant long-term business impact. -Influential leader across multiple squads through formal supervisory responsibility and/or technical authority, as well as by example/influence, challenging mindsets/behaviours if needed. -Experience of coaching and mentoring others in their personal and professional development. -A technology leader with prior experience empowering and working within a large team of software engineers.
