Tasks
As a Digital Engineering Architect at OPG, you will play a pivotal role in defining and delivering the digital engineering vision across the full asset lifecycle. Leveraging your expertise in engineering technology, you will architect, integrate, and optimize solutions supporting engineering design, construction, handover, and operations. You will work closely with engineering, IT, project management, and EPC (Engineering, Procurement & Construction) partners to drive innovation, operational efficiency, and measurable business value as part of OPG's Strategic Transformation Roadmap (STR). -Work closely with project managers, scrum masters, and engineering leads to ensure successful delivery of digital engineering workstreams. -Define and govern engineering data models, standards, and integration patterns to ensure data quality, integrity, and compliance with industry and regulatory standards. -Facilitate workshops, training, and knowledge transfer sessions for engineering and project teams. -Represent OPG at industry forums, conferences, and consortiums, sharing insights and best practices. -Oversee the adoption and integration of advanced technologies such as digital twins, 3D/4D visualization, loT-enabled monitoring, and model-based systems engineering (MBSE). -Collaborate with EPC partners and internal teams to optimize engineering workflows, reduce rework, and accelerate project timelines. -Mentor and develop internal talent, fostering a high-performing, innovative, and future-ready digital engineering workforce. -Develop and maintain enterprise architecture for digital engineering, integrating key technologies such as PLM, CAD, Building Information Modeling (BIM), Geographic Information Systems (GIS), loT, digital twins, and advanced analytics. -Analyze and translate complex business and engineering requirements into digital solutions that enhance project delivery, asset management, and regulatory compliance. -Support agile ceremonies, project planning, and continuous improvement initiatives. -Architect solutions that connect engineering design, construction, commissioning, and operations data for end-to-end asset visibility and integrity. -Ensure digital engineering solutions align with OPG's governance, cybersecurity, and data management standards. Project Management & Agile Delivery: -Track and report on progress, risks, and issues related to digital engineering solution delivery. Continuous Learning, Thought Leadership & Industry Engagement: -Lead the design, selection, and implementation of engineering systems and platforms (e.g., Siemens Teamcenter, SAP PLM, Autodesk, Bentley, Aveva, Hexagon, ESRI, etc.) to enable seamless data management, collaboration, and lifecycle traceability. -Stay current with trends in digital engineering, BIM, PLM, CAD, GIS, loT, digital twins, and related technologies.
