Harmonic Analysis Engineer - HVDC System Design

Tasks

-You will be involved in the designing of HVDC converter stations until verification measurements at site. -You will be responsible for evaluating the harmonic performance and, if needed, design filters to meet the project requirements, this involves also to evaluate and influence how the HVDC converter control affects the harmonics. This is performed by doing advanced system simulations of the HVDC converters, connected AC networks and DC transmission links. -You will develop design tools that improve our studies and processes. -You will work with land-based converter stations as well as offshore converter stations, e.g. for connection of wind parks. -You will participate in conferences and standardization work groups in your field within the international engineering communities. -You will be responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

What You Bring

-You will cooperate, both internally within and outside of our department and also externally, with customers and sub suppliers. Here, negotiation skills will be useful. -Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. -Understanding and design of Electrical Power Systems and controls. -Knowledge in selection, sizing and integration of above equipment based on customer functional specification. -Extensive knowledge of Power Systems equipment and their purpose, such as Power Transformers, Capacitors, Reactors, Instrument Transformer and measuring equipment, Circuit Breakers, Disconnector, Surge Arrester etc. -Extensive knowledge of Power Systems studies and modelling of electrical network. -Preferably knowledge on IEC/IEEE standards, Understanding application of Power Electronics in HV/EHV system like HVDC and FACTS is preferred, proven skills in using computers as a calculation tool. -Experience of power system simulation tools such as PSSE, EMTDC /PSCAD and calculations in Matlab / Mathcad is preferred. -You hold a degree in Master of Engineering - Power System (2 to 10 years' of experience) / PhD - Power System (1 to 5 years of experience).
