School Custodian

Overview

Performs general cleaning duties in K-12 school or campus facilities.

Tasks

-Comply with all safety, security, compliance, and quality standards and procedures established by the Company, Clients, and regulatory authorities -Regularly check trash receptacles, emptying as needed, in all designated areas -Notify lead cleaner or manager concerning the need for minor or major repairs or additions to building operating systems -Clean and maintain assigned area, which may include classrooms, hallways, restrooms, locker rooms, office, and stairways -Sweep walks, rake leaves, cut grass, remove snow or perform other incidental seasonal tasks -Maintain the cleanliness of restrooms (clean and polish as needed) -Wipe and clean tabletops, chairs, and equipment in food areas -Clean interior partition glass, windows, glass partitions, and mirrors using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees -Move cabinets, boxes, furniture, crates and equipment to clean areas, either manually or by using hand trucks -Sweep, remove debris, clean spills, and mop floors in designated areas -Collect, consolidate, and separate recycling into proper receptacles -Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment in order to prevent damage to floors and fixtures -Establish and maintain effective communication and working relationships with clients, co-workers, shift coordinators, supervisors, managers, etc. -Clean and dust desks, chairs, tables furniture, fixtures, doors, sills, floors, ceiling, and walls -Polish hard surfaces, e.g. woodwork, stainless steel surfaces
