Design Project Engineer

Overview

Design and lead infrastructure/transportation projects, including highway and multimodal planning.

Tasks

-Develop plans, specifications, quantities, and cost estimates. -Perform technical analyses and reviews of infrastructure projects. -Perform and lead engineering design tasks for infrastructure projects from conceptual design to final design. -Support Project Managers to ensure projects meet the defined schedules, cost estimates, and performance/technical measures and specifications. This includes development of Project Management Plans, Scopes of Work, Cost Estimates, and other project management related activities. -Assists in preparing and developing proposals, presentations, reports, and studies. -Mentor and develop new engineers in transportation and highway design. -Lead and coordinate design activities between staff, subcontractors, and clients

What You Bring

-Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Engineering required. Preferably in civil, transportation engineering. -Basic knowledge of MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel. -Strong technical design background in highway design and transportation engineering. -Excellent organizational skills and ability to direct and supervise staff engineers and technicians -Licensed PE in the State of Wisconsin -4+ plus years of experience. -In depth knowledge of MicroStation, Open Roads, and Civil3D. -Possess excellent in-depth knowledge of roadway design software tools including MicroStation and OpenRoads. -Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
