The Role

Overview

Paint interior and exterior surfaces of a shopping center, maintaining standards.

Tasks

-Clean up and store paint and painting tools and equipment in appropriate areas. -Apply paint, stain and other finishes to property walls, ceilings and furniture using brushes, spray guns, or rollers. -Cover surfaces with appropriate material for protection during painting and post appropriate paint signs. -Apply primer or sealers to prepare new surface for finish coats. -Move up and down a ladder. -Remove old finishes by stripping, sanding, wire bonding or using water solvents. -Perform the job in accordance with all applicable standards, policies and regulatory guidelines (i.e. OSHA standards) to promote a safe working environment -Follow all company safety and security policies and procedures ; report maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents or injuries, and complete safety training. -Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time. -Coordinate with management and/or supervisor in order to modify colors of paint, stain, or varnish. -Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional. Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, and protect company assets. -Ensure the appropriate inventory systems, records, files, material safety data sheets, supplies, equipment and tools are maintained.

What You Bring

-Capability to diagnose problems on equipment -Knowledge of safety rules, hazards and application of accident prevention measures -Reach overhead and below knees, including bending, twisting, pulling and stepping. -Self-starter with ability to work independently -Minimum 2-3 years painting experience -Knowledge of basic painting procedures -Ability to read and interpret documents, plans and schematic drawings and comprehend instructions. Ability to effectively present information to departmental management, employees, tenants, and outside contacts -Ability to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays -Valid Driver’s License -Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form. Ability to define problems, collect information and establish facts. -Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds -High School Diploma or GED preferred. Technical School certifications and/or training preferred
