The Role

Overview

Mid-level civil engineer for construction inspection and design support on WisDOT projects.

Tasks

-Provide guidance for staff, promote company growth, and advance current processes. -Lead or provide day-to-day support to project managers and engineers across multiple projects. -Coordinate with WisDOT, local municipalities, and internal team members to ensure smooth project delivery. -Track quantities, review pay applications and maintain accurate daily records using WisDOT reporting systems. -Lead projects and/or perform on-site inspection and documentation of WisDOT or other client highway and bridge construction projects. -Communicate effectively with team members, clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies. -Use Autodesk Civil 3D to prepare plan sheets, revisions, and technical exhibits for WisDOT projects. -Communicate directly with contractors, WisDOT staff, and project team members to resolve field issues. -Perform engineering calculations to support design decisions and verify contractor submittals. -Verify contractor compliance with WisDOT standards, specifications, and contract documents. -Pushing, pulling, and lifting of equipment or materials -Assist with roadway and structure design tasks as needed. -Handle multiple deadlines while producing high-quality work in both design and field environments.

What You Bring

-Familiarity with Wisconsin Department of Transportation and local agency procedures. (preferred) -Use of a keyboard -Excessive standing or walking on uneven terrain -Strong interpersonal skills for engaging with team members & clients. -Occasional travel required for meetings, training, and events -Strong oral and written communication skills. -Ability to lift at least 25lbs. -Prolonged periods on construction sites in all-season weather conditions -Authorization to work in the United States for any employer. We will not provide sponsorship for this position. -Computer literacy, including use of relevant communication and file organization software. -Minimum of a four-year technical degree in a civil engineering related field or comparable education with relatable experience. -Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. -Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment. -Experience using Autodesk Civil 3D (preferred) -Strong organizational and recordkeeping skills. -Effective conflict resolution and problem-solving abilities.
