Design and manage structural building systems from concept through construction.

Tasks

-Be a decision-maker in developing system layouts, narratives, calculations and engineering reports. -Pass along knowledge by mentoring entry-level staff. -Promote workflow and technical standards best-practices for our diverse multi-office practice. -Produce construction documents using Revit. -Assist contractors by reviewing shop drawings, RFIs and participating in O/A/C meetings.

What You Bring

-Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of California. -Licensed Professional Engineer (PE), Licensed Structural Engineer (SE) preferred -Learn and adapt to variations in building codes and construction practices while working on projects around the US. -Experience with BIM including Autodesk Revit workflow. -Goal oriented with strong skills in problem solving, creativity, and attention to detail. -Excellent written and verbal communication skills. -Experience with design and construction of projects under DSA jurisdiction. -Understanding of commercial building materials, systems, and assemblies. -Experience with BIM (e.g. Autodesk Revit Structural) workflow. -Master’s Degree in Civil/Structural or Architectural/Structural Engineering. -5+ years of building related structural engineering experience, including the design of concrete, masonry, steel and wood/timber; gravity and lateral systems. -Working knowledge of current structural software (ETABS, SAP, SAFE, RAM, ADAPT, RISA, Enercalc). -Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural/Architectural Engineering; Master’s degree preferred. -Experience and interest in sustainable building design. -Passion for sustainable building design and SE2050 commitment.
