Tasks

-Identifies risk issues on bid opportunities and their order of magnitude -Maintains and communicates data on construction and material cost trends affecting project costs -Fills in minor and major scope/design gaps -Reviews constructability issues on process piping construction projects with operational staff -Supports preparation of instructions to bidders, bid form and other bid solicitation information as required -Reviews construction project plans, specifications and coordinates with the team to confirm complete scope -Ensures the flow of bid project information is maintained and documented -Analyses alternate means and methods to determine the most economical alternative -Assists in the preparation of the proposal letter -Reviews general conditions, schedule, scopes of work, hoisting plans, site logistics and other exhibits as prepared by Operations -Prepares conceptual estimates based on minimal information -Participates in estimating turnover transfer of information on successful projects including the Project Kick-off Meeting -Builds effective relationships with customers, design team, specialty contractors, suppliers, and user groups that reflect and support company core values and meets or exceeds the customer's expectations -Provides detailed breakouts for customers -Reviews subcontractor and vendor bid packages -Solicits subcontractor and/or supplier information and pricing -Performs and/or manages the pricing effort for internal budgets -Mentors and trains new estimators -Investigates and recommends the best industry standard estimating technology

What You Bring

-Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field preferred -Prior experience in Mechanical or Process Piping Estimating is required -8+ years of experience in construction -High School Diploma or GED required -Proficient in at least one commercially available estimating software system, EBM or Accubid
