Contribute to transportation planning and engineering projects including feasibility studies, transportation environmental assessments, functional plans, and preliminary designs for active transportation facilities and other types of facilities as assigned
Assist with facilitation of public workshop events.
Interpretation and development of transportation planning policy, including master plans, land use plans and zoning bylaws
Serve as GIS lead on projects and comply with established project scope, schedule and budget; and coordinate multiple supporting GIS resources.
Act as a Senior Urban Planner on complex and challenging transportation planning assignments;
Actively engage with immediate GIS team and greater GIS community, both locally and beyond, staying aware of the state of practice, new tools and technology, and opportunities for growth
Support multidisciplinary teams of planners, architects, urban designers, landscape architects, engineers
Work with project teams to determine the optimal approach for using geospatial technologies to meet client needs, accurately estimate the corresponding level of effort, and then see implementation through to completion.

Proficiency in spoken and written English;
Use knowledge of provincial and local planning policy in the preparation of planning policy studies for public sector clients;
High level of proficiency in MS Office applications.

A strong aptitude for collaboration, particularly across disciplines such as Urban Design, Landscape Architecture, Engineering and Architecture; and

A relevant Urban Planning degree (Masterslevel an asset) and Full Membership in the OPPI (or eligibility to apply) and planning experience of a minimum of 10 years, with demonstrated experience working directly for Ontario municipalities.
University degree in engineering, urban planning, economics, geography, or a related field
Additional experience with engineering software such as AutoCAD or Synchro will be considered favorably

Use knowledge of planning, land use, infrastructure economics, and transportation equity to analyze and address socioeconomic impacts of transportation infrastructure projects on the public

Comprehensive understanding of planning and urban design principles specifically as it relates to urban, regional, and rural planning and placemaking, climate change and resilience, emerging innovations, and development economics.
Excellent skills in research, data analysis, and problem solving
Strong understanding of foundational GIS principles and skills.
Demonstrated extensive knowledge and experience with the planning, programming, and prioritization of Ontario municipal transportation infrastructure projects from conception to delivery, informed by factors such as, but not limited to, socioeconomic impacts and transportation equity
Demonstrated ability to readily identify potential problems on a project;
Prior experience within a consulting environment will be considered valuable.

Proficient in both vector and raster data management and analysis techniques.
Expert in ArcGIS Online and/or ArcGIS Enterprise/Portal, including associated applications (e.g., Dashboards, Experience Builder, Hub Site, StoryMap).
Additional technical background in areas related to urban design, land economics, transportation planning and/or public engagement considered an asset;
