Manage cost control & financial reporting for high‑voltage transmission projects.

Tasks
-Collaborating with Project Managers to procure and manage consultants and other contracted services. -Develops effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. -Preparing and maintain budget, expenditure, and forecast data within cost reporting systems in line with established reporting cycles; ensure accurate upkeep of programme and financial trackers and assist the Programme Controls Manager in producing management reports. -Identifying, quantifying, and monitoring cost efficiencies across all projects. -Providing cost data required for Gateway submissions. -Performing earned value analysis and recommend corrective actions for emerging negative trends. -Supporting Project Managers in developing project budgets and forecasts. -Managing cost management updates during weekly project team meetings. -Assisting Project Managers in drafting financial content for approval papers. -Assisting senior leadership in the annual business planning process. -Directing cost trending reviews and analysis, challenging service providers on cost performance where necessary. -Recording financial transactions promptly and accurately in financial systems, collaborating with procurement to ensure proper handling of contracts, variations, and invoices. -Monitoring contingency drawdowns and provide recommendations as needed.

What You Bring
-A degree in quantity surveying/cost management (or equivalent). -Experience of managing parts of projects within large, diverse teams. -Detailed knowledge of most forms of contract. -Sound knowledge and ability to undertake and advise on Contract Administration and Contract Management. -Ability to seek opportunities for implementing improved working practices. -Problem solving and analytical skills for resolving cost and contract administration and procurement issues -Good interpersonal skills to prepare reports, negotiate and build relationships with key stakeholders. -Commercial and financial acumen. -Experience of managing relationships with key senior stakeholders. -Sound knowledge of value engineering, life cycle costing, contract law and contractual frameworks relating to construction. Proficient knowledge and expertise in specific sector/market of project/role. -Professional membership i.e. MRICS/RICS (or equivalent).
