Tasks

The Civil Engineering Manager is responsible for assigning civil staff to projects. Assists in writing proposals, developing hours to execute projects, and identifying risks and opportunities for upcoming projects. Evaluates and manages employees under their supervision. -Mentors Interns and junior members of project teams -Ensures staff forecasting is current on a weekly basis for the discipline, as entered in the Manpower Management System (MMS). Help in adjustment of resource additions / reductions within the discipline -When necessary, employ the use of personal process engineering capabilities related to programming, planning, design and project management on specific project assignments -Maintains primary accountability for all civil designs, sharing engineering responsibility -Reports out to the Director during the Bi-Weekly Manager meeting, the status of all projects and proposals in the platform, identify technical challenges, and problems or risks. Holds weekly project discipline leads meetings with reports to the Discipline Director -Attracts, retains and develops premier talent through recruiting, mentoring, training and other employee development activities -Manages the overall integration of activities associated with the design and construction of complex manufacturing facilities -Plans and directs the coordinated activities of a design department -Participates in weekly project meetings, including report-out on project progress, performance risks, budget status, coordination issues, and staffing requirements

Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time. -Civil design experience using AutoCAD Civil3D -Be capable of enjoying the work and keeping a positive attitude in a challenging environment -Nation Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES) Record preferred -Professional Engineering (PE) License -Ability to manage 5+ staff -Understand industry, drafting and design standards associated with detailing and construction document development -Understands differences between project delivery methods -Working knowledge Autodesk Building Systems Software design and delivery systems -Experience working in an office environment and preferably has experience working on a construction site -Exhibit a professional demeanor and be a proactive problem solver -Demonstrated track record of strong Structural office leadership -10+ years of experience -Prior experience working with high hazard (H occupancy) facility types -Experience with Design-Build -Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering preferred -Experience in global teams and/or multi-office project execution -Be familiar with all local discipline projects in sufficient detail to know schedule, resource requirements, submittal dates, etc. so staff can be allocated as needed to accomplish a smooth product flow -Adept at interfacing with and aligning multiple stakeholders with diplomacy while exhibiting a professional demeanor -Excellent verbal and written communication skills -Experienced in Autodesk Building Systems Software design and delivery systems -Experience in contributing to continuous improvement processes -Ability to lead the organization in a broad area of specialization or in a narrow, but intensely specialized field -Prior experience in semiconductors and microelectronic facilities -Demonstrate good written and verbal communication skills in meetings and reports along with respect, tact and diplomacy -Experience in driving and managing change -Demonstrates skills in persuasion and negotiation of critical issues -Ability to work with global teams and/or multi-office project execution is desirable -Experience as a consulting engineer
