Tasks

-Plans electrical secondary system additions or modifications. -Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices. -Troubleshooting and repairing malfunctions in secondary (1000 volts) circuits and systems including cutouts, switchgear, and transformers; b) Isolating faults in 1000 voltage distribution system and replacing cable runs; c) Operating all 1000 voltage controls and switchgear including repairing and replacing those; d) Leading, guiding and/or training other electricians in applicable procedures and techniques. -Installs and monitors performance of installed electrical and mechanical equipment for hazards, adjustments, or replacement. -Repairs install, replace, and test electrical and mechanical equipment using appropriate tools and testing instruments. -Leads, guides, and/or trains other electricians or maintenance personnel in applicable procedures and techniques. -May perform work of lower-level electricians or maintenance mechanics -Reads employs and updates electrical and mechanical panel schedules.

What You Bring

-CPR and First Aid certification must be obtained within 6 months of the date of hire. -Ability to install and maintain motors, welding equipment, lighting fixtures, generators, circuit breakers, and transformers as appropriate to the position. -Work involves almost constant exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, and/or loud noises. -Knowledge of secondary electrical systems including planning additions or modifications on secondary circuits. -Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures. -Electrical Journeyman's License -Ability to isolate defects in wiring, switches, motors, and other electrical equipment. -Must pass a pre-employment criminal background check. -Ability to lead and train staff and/or students. -Possession of a valid driver's license is a requirement for this job. -Ability to use appropriate tools and diagnostic equipment to repair, install, replace, and test 1000 volt and below electrical circuits, equipment and appliances. -Considerable physical activity. Requires heavy physical work; heavy lifting, pushing or pulling required objects up to 50 pounds. -Ability to read commercial electrical blueprints and apply NEC through the full range of commercial and industrial maintenance and construction work. -High school diploma or GED; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that is above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis. -Ability to diagnose and repair electrical controls, industrial motor control centers, and programmable logic controllers for secondary systems 1000 volt and below. -Ability to use hand and power tools applicable to trade. -The successful candidate must submit to post-offer, pre-employment physical examination, and medical history check.
