Regulatory Specialist

Description

• Generate and validate official technical documents for new and existing flavors and ingredient systems, including Product Data Sheets, Safety Data Sheets, and Nutritional Statements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (R&D, Sales, Quality, MIH, and Production) to ensure compliance throughout product development.
• Proactively conduct market research to understand regulatory changes and trends affecting the flavor and beverage industry.
• Conduct risk assessments to identify potential regulatory issues and develop mitigation strategies.
• Provide training to internal teams on regulatory requirements and compliance best practices.
• Assist in achieving and maintaining certifications such as Organic, Non-GMO Project Verified, Kosher, and Halal.
• Review and approve product labels and advertising materials to ensure compliance with labeling regulations and truth-in-advertising laws.
• Stay up to date on regulatory changes and understand their implications for the business.
• Gather and analyze data to ensure compliance with domestic (FEMA GRAS, USDA) and international (Codex, EFFA, JECFA, etc.) regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• 1+ years of experience in a regulatory position within the flavor industry.
• Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, food science, nutrition, or a related field.
• Experience with SDS sheets, nutritional statements, and product label review.
• Regulatory affairs and regulatory submission expertise.
