The Role

Tasks

-Diagnose and rectify protection-related issues during construction and commissioning phases. -Ensure all protection systems meet Australian Standards (AS/NZS 3000, AS 2067, AS 61850, etc.), client specifications, and RSGx quality requirements. -Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and commissioning technicians. -Work closely with electrical engineers, commissioning teams, and project managers to deliver integrated project outcomes. -Maintain accurate documentation and testing records to support verification and validation. -Promote and uphold RSGx's safety culture, ensuring all work is carried out in accordance with HSEC policies and procedures. -Support the development and execution of testing procedures and commissioning plans. -Conduct protection coordination and grading studies, relay setting calculations, and fault studies using industry-standard software (e.g. ETAP, PowerFactory). -Perform factory acceptance tests (FAT), site acceptance tests (SAT), and commissioning of protection and control systems. -Liaise with clients, OEMs, and network service providers to ensure alignment of protection philosophies and requirements. -Prepare protection and control drawings, logic diagrams, and settings documentation. -Contribute to internal quality and safety audits related to electrical protection systems. -Identify and manage risks associated with electrical protection and commissioning activities. -Develop, review, and implement protection schemes for high-voltage (HV) and low-voltage (LV) systems, including transmission, distribution, and industrial networks.

What You Bring

-Electrical Engineering Degree. -Good communicator who is confident to be client-facing and able to work independently. -Competent in the suite of Omicron, Doble and Megger Test Equipment. -Experienced in testing and commissioning of Distribution and Transmission voltage levels.
